9 Months Old

My babies are 9 months old. We had their appointment on Monday and they were great! J weighed in at 19 lb 2.5 oz, 26.75inches. O was 19lb 6.5 oz and 27 inches long. They are not crawling yet (which is just fine with me!), but they can push themselves backwards and J is rolling over like crazy now. We were at lunch with Memere the other day and J waved bye-bye to a little girl...that was a first! And on the way out, they gave me a $5 off coupon because she said I have such well behaved babies! I should have asked for a college fund instead, oh well. :)
J is learning how to do Peek-a-boo. She will hold her blankie up over her face and when you say "Where's J?" she pulls it down, smiling away. Grandma and Grandpa are in Disney World with cousin W. I think the girls really miss them! They will be home Sunday. Can't wait to hear all about it from W. I started going to meetings at a place called Keeping Pace with Multiple Miracles. It seems like it will be a nice support group. They have a playgroup for kids the girls age and hopefully we will get to go at some point. Right now, I am working all of the days that the group meets, but maybe next schedule.

J&O are growing so fast! I can't believe they are 8 1/2 months old. Time is flying (have I mentioned that before????). It has been great being off of work for awhile. I feel like the more time I spend with them, the more time I want to spend with them. They are so amazing. They laugh so easily. Everything is getting easier too. Especially the sleeping. They sleep through the night (although I still have to figure out how to get them to stop waking up at 5 or 6 a.m. to nurse). They still don't nap well, but I have resigned myself to that.

We converted the dining room into a playroom, which I LOVE! The girls like to be in there and it is nice to have all of their toys in one place. They like to play! The toy that Auntie Daphne, Uncle David, Ethan and Lea got them is one of their favorites!

J's new favorite thing is shreiking. She does it when she is happy, sad, frustrated, mad...I think I got one of my sisters kids! She was the shreiker! Oh well.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. I know we did. Christmas was great. We spent Christmas Eve with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Mike, Auntie Lynne and cousin W. J&O got tons of stuff and they were very good considering they were up way past bedtime. W was so funny. He got a bike from grandma and grandpa and was soooo excited, but when we asked if he wanted to get on he just said "No, thank you!". He did eventually get on, but it was cute. Christmas morning we spent at home and Grandma and Grandpa came over to see the girls. Then we got dressed up and went over to Memere and Pepere's for a family gathering with Pepere Gilly, Auntie Jeanne, Uncle David, Auntie Daphne and cousins E and L. The kids were so cute. Christmas is so fun with kids around. After a turkey dinner it was off to Cousin Lisa's house for a quick visit before heading home. The next day Steve and I got a stomach bug and felt HORRIBLE! But all is well now. Everyone is finally feeling well and we have more toys than we have room in the house (we converted the dining room into a playroom). I will post pics when I get my camera back from Memere and Pepere's house! Welcome to 2009!

Not much new

Not too much new on the homefront. J&O are still sick. O is coughing a lot now and she sounds terrible! I think I am finally catching it. My immune system fought against it for 4 weeks, but I think it is throwing in the towel. O says DaDa sometimes, but not really with any intention so we are not calling that her first word. J said ma ma ma today and even though I know she didn't mean it, it still made my heart melt. Only 3 more days till Christmas!

Viruses...YUCK!

The cold is back! Or its a new cold. But whatever it is, it is here with a vengeance. Poor girls. Especially J, who coughs soooooooo much! We brought them to the doctor and he confirmed that they are just fighting something viral. Oh well. I guess this is what we signed up for!
We brought the girls to meet Santa for the first time on Sunday. They did awesome (picture to be added soon!). There was a little boy who was in line behind us whom we had to keep reminding not to touch the babies. He was cute, but just a little too forward (and his grandma didn't seem to notice). But he came in handy when it came to picture time. The girls were not smiling so we called the little guy up there and he was dancing and jumping around. We got such a cute picture! I can't wait to post it. Anyway, wish us speedy recovery vibes. (oh, and Lea, I typed this in Trebuchet!)

The girls colds are almost gone, but J is still coughing at night. If it isn't better by Monday I'll call the pediatrician. They like the Christmas tree and I love being able to sing Christmas carols to them. I am working this weekend, so Daddy is with them. He is such a good Daddy! I think we might go and see Santa tomorrow (Sunday) so I will post pictures of them with the big guy. Christmas cards are all set to go, just have to get to the post office to get stamps (easier said than done with two babies in tow!). I can't believe how time flies!!!
