"Where is your heart?"

My computer may have a virus and I'm having problems uploading photos, so this has been the perfect opportunity for me to slack and not update the blog!!! We finally sold our house and are closing on the 24th of November (fingers crossed). But, as we are not closing on our new house until December 10th (again, fingers crossed) we will be moving in with Memere and Pepere for a couple of weeks. The girls will be sleeping in Pepere's office which will be moved down to the basement for awhile. We really appreciate all of the effort and sacrifice involved! The doggies, however, are not welcome at Memere and Pepere's house :( . Sooo, Simon will be living in NH for a couple of weeks with David, Daphne and the kids (I really think he would prefer to be an only dog anyway). Lucy will be staying in Berkley with the Bianchi family. Emmett will be living with Steve's parents for the duration. Hopefully all the table scraps that Grandpa is sure to give him don't increase his waistline too much! He will definitely be in heaven over there though. We are so excited to move into our new home. So much more room!
The girls are growing bigger and more interesting all the time! The talk soooo much. Jocelyn just had a language explosion and is pronouncing things much better than she was. They love their cousins and know all of their names. 2 weeks ago Ellinor turned one (yikes!) and they had such a blast at "Elnnanor"'s party. I think the kitchen set that Memere and Pepere are going to be getting them is going to be a major hit, based on their reaction to Elli's new one. Then last weekend James had his second birthday. I wasn't there, but the girls got to go on a REAL FIRETRUCK! It was a rainy day, but the kids had a blast. Halloween was fun. We visited grandparents and dressed as ballerinas. They had so much fun dancing for everyone!

The Doorway

Here are the girls from Sunday afternoon. They LOVE having that door open. It is even cuter when they are just in diapers, but this was pretty adorable too. Mom W said it looks like they are getting ready for the next showing. We have had a few showings on the house recently, but no offers yet. Keeping fingers crossed though! Tomorrow (well, today actually!) is Pepere's birthday so we will be off celebrating with him tomorrow. Summer is officially over!

Sports Fans

Here are my little Red Sox fans the other day. I love how O looks so concerned for her sister. I can't believe how BIG they are getting! Now its on to Patriots Season!

Labor Day Weekend

What a fun labor day weekend! Sunday we went to the Woodstock Fair in Woodstock Ct. It was VERY crowded and difficult to push the stroller around, but we had fun anyway. J&O got their first taste of fried dough, Del's Lemonade (not fans), corn dogs and cotton candy (not fans of that either). They also had some of Grandpa's french fries. They got to see lots of cows (VERY exciting). They loved the chickens and the bunny rabbits. They weren't too impressed with the piglets, but I'm not convinced they could see them very well. Gramma got them these alligators on a spring and I hung them from the ceiling in the van. Now I get to hear O say "Alligay" all the time. It is adorable. On Monday, Mommy and the girls went shopping in the morning. Then we stopped at Memere and Pepere's house for lunch. After that, Mommy, Daddy, J&O and Emmett all went to Colt State Park (where Mommy and Daddy got engaged) for a picnic! It was so fun. The girls loved going for a long walk in their wagon. They even made a new friend (a little boy who thought it was fun to crash his big wheel into the wagon). The girls sure slept good that night!

Its starting to feel like fall! I can't believe the summer is almost over. J&O now think Memere and Pepere's house is synonymous with "pool". Boy will they get a shock when they aren't allowed to play in the pool anymore! The biting is getting better. They are still biting a bit, but it is definitely improving. We went to doughnuts on Saturday with everyone and it was so funny to see them toddling around the doughnut shop! We are trying to teach some manners and the girls now know how to say "please" and "thank you"!

We had a great day yesterday. We went to the zoo with the girls. It was "Multiples Day" at Southwick's Zoo. They liked seeing all of the animals and were equally as impressed by the ball in the baboon's enclosure and the waterfall in the tiger's enclosure. They wanted to walk a lot of the time which made for a slow move through the zoo, but it was adorable. We met up with some of the other moms of multiples that I know from being in my twins group. The girls were very excited about all of the babies! O learned the word "alligator" last week and it is my new favorite cute thing that she says. So we went to see the alligators, but they were camouflaged in the water. Oh well.

Last weekend we made our first trip of the season to the beach. They really didn't care for the sand, but we had a good time anyway. They looked adorable! (Thanks to Auntie Heather for the super cute headbands).

The girls have been biters for awhile now. Whenever one has something the other wants, she bites her sister. They have been better lately, but today, while Daddy was cutting up the chicken, J decided that she wanted the car that O had. So she bit her face. Poor O has a huge bite mark on her face. I would feel really badly for her, except I know that she has given her sister quite a few nasty bites herself.
They are really into reading right now. They love any books with touch and feel kind of thing. They walk over saying "Book? Book?" and holding out the book for you to take. Then its "up!". And once one is on your lap, the other one comes toddling over "up! up!". It seems that the simplest books (like the ones with 5 pages and 5words) can be read over and over and OVER, while the more interesting books with lots of words just won't do, and get tossed to the floor after a page or two.
They are loving the pool. Memere and Pepere have a blow up giraffe (named Nathaniel) that floats around in the pool. They love to point at it and say "Giafe", but when it comes within touching distance, they lose their tough exterior, clinging and shaking their heads "NO!".
Walking and talking a ton (although not always in a language that I understand). They are so funny and so much fun. Tomorrow (0r today rather, as it is 1:30am) we are going to Southwick's Zoo for the first time. It is Multiples Day, 1/2price for families with mulitples, so it should be interesting!

Our first Plane Trip

The girls did great on their first plane ride! We had a really nice flight attendant who helped us board, got us cookies, offered to watch them if I had to use the restroom and got them a certificate with their names and "wings".
J and O got to meet their newest cousin B. He is so cute and such a good baby! Here he is nestled in his little sling at the zoo...

N's newest obsession is Jeeps, so you can imagine his joy when we came accross this display at the Zoo! He was sooooo excited!

My favorite part of the zoo was feeding the giraffes. It was super cool! Never thought I would get to pet a giraffe!

And back at Auntie Lea's house, we spent a hot afternoon chillin in the pool. What fun!

So all in all a great trip! Can't wait to go back!

Too long between posts!

Okay, I am becoming a horrible blogger. As Lisa pointed out, it has been forever since my last post! So, in the interim, the girls have turned ONE! (I can't believe I have toddlers!). They started crawling a couple of days before their early intervention appointment (they were approved for services for gross motor), so she will be back in July when the girls are 15months old. They are cruising, pulling up, riding their little cars and horses all around the house and just generally creating mayhem! They are so freakin cute. They each have 4 teeth now (O cut her 4th one today). They had a great birthday. You can see their pictures on Megans blog at
www.perspectives-photography.com/blog and search under April 2009. We had a blast and the girls got tons of stuff. We will be moving to "Big Girl" carseats soon. And we will be taking away the paci's after we get back from our trip. Which brings me to the next thing... The girls and I are flying to Michigan on Tuesday! Lea had a little baby boy (well, not so little 9lb15oz!) on May 15th. So the girls are going to get to meet their newest cousin! We will be gone for a week and I unintentionally planned the trip for over fathers day weekend. And you would think that not getting up early and being able to do whatever you want on Fathers Day would be a great gift, but Steve will be doing a side job, so it isn't all fun and games! But we will get to celebrate the following weekend. They are both saying "down (sounds like don), mama, da da, dog (daw), bubbles (buba). O seems to say things more consistently than her sister. They both sign "more", but O seems to think it just means "I want". She does the sign for more then just points at what she wants. They love looking out the big window in the living room to look for birds, and say "bir... bir?". So that is all for now. Wish me luck on the big trip. I'll try to be better about keeping up with this blog!

First Teeth!

So after 11 months (to the day!) my girls have their first tooth! They each got one tooth yesterday (3/26) on their 11month birthday. Seems like they have to do EVERYTHING together! Olivias is on the right and Jocelyn's is on the left. Poor girls were teething while having pneumonia (Olivia) and an ear infection (Jocelyn) with fevers of 104! But all is better now. They are feeling much better. Early intervention is evaluating them (they still aren't crawling) and we should hear more about that soon. Jocelyn is waving bye-bye a lot now. Olivia started clapping today. She also says "yay" (sort of, it kind of sound like "aaayaa") while she claps... sooooooo cute! That's all for now!

J&O have been doing well. They have another bad cold, but other than that, things are good. Cousin E got baptized last weekend and we went to the party after. The girls were their usual cheerful selves. I swear that they do better in large groups than small intimate settings! They are getting good at scooting around on their bellies. I have gotten a few tips on helping them learn to crawl, so we shall see. Even though they are not feeling well, they still have tons of smiles to go around! O is doing a little worse than J. You can just tell she doesn't feel well. She is actually being a little cuddly (very unlike her!). They have been having fun hanging out with their cousins, but they are all going to Florida today, so we won't be seeing them for a week!

Peek-a-Boo

Peek-a-boo has, of course, been a long time favorite in our house. But just recently, the girls have started covering their own faces with their blankies (or whatever else is laying around) to play with us or each other. It is so cute! Still no forward motion (again, this is totally okay with me!). They can get around okay by pivoting while lying on their tummies. J is best at this. She can really move! They aren't afraid of the penguin blow up toy anymore. In fact they really like it. O started with a virus in her mouth (the doc said it isn't anything serious) and now J has it also. It hurts their mouths to eat, so they aren't eating as well, but they are still nursing fine, so we are sticking with that. Not too much else that I can think of...

9 Months Old

My babies are 9 months old. We had their appointment on Monday and they were great! J weighed in at 19 lb 2.5 oz, 26.75inches. O was 19lb 6.5 oz and 27 inches long. They are not crawling yet (which is just fine with me!), but they can push themselves backwards and J is rolling over like crazy now. We were at lunch with Memere the other day and J waved bye-bye to a little girl...that was a first! And on the way out, they gave me a $5 off coupon because she said I have such well behaved babies! I should have asked for a college fund instead, oh well. :)
J is learning how to do Peek-a-boo. She will hold her blankie up over her face and when you say "Where's J?" she pulls it down, smiling away. Grandma and Grandpa are in Disney World with cousin W. I think the girls really miss them! They will be home Sunday. Can't wait to hear all about it from W. I started going to meetings at a place called Keeping Pace with Multiple Miracles. It seems like it will be a nice support group. They have a playgroup for kids the girls age and hopefully we will get to go at some point. Right now, I am working all of the days that the group meets, but maybe next schedule.

J&O are growing so fast! I can't believe they are 8 1/2 months old. Time is flying (have I mentioned that before????). It has been great being off of work for awhile. I feel like the more time I spend with them, the more time I want to spend with them. They are so amazing. They laugh so easily. Everything is getting easier too. Especially the sleeping. They sleep through the night (although I still have to figure out how to get them to stop waking up at 5 or 6 a.m. to nurse). They still don't nap well, but I have resigned myself to that.

We converted the dining room into a playroom, which I LOVE! The girls like to be in there and it is nice to have all of their toys in one place. They like to play! The toy that Auntie Daphne, Uncle David, Ethan and Lea got them is one of their favorites!

J's new favorite thing is shreiking. She does it when she is happy, sad, frustrated, mad...I think I got one of my sisters kids! She was the shreiker! Oh well.

Happy New Year!
Hope everyone had a great holiday. I know we did. Christmas was great. We spent Christmas Eve with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Mike, Auntie Lynne and cousin W. J&O got tons of stuff and they were very good considering they were up way past bedtime. W was so funny. He got a bike from grandma and grandpa and was soooo excited, but when we asked if he wanted to get on he just said "No, thank you!". He did eventually get on, but it was cute. Christmas morning we spent at home and Grandma and Grandpa came over to see the girls. Then we got dressed up and went over to Memere and Pepere's for a family gathering with Pepere Gilly, Auntie Jeanne, Uncle David, Auntie Daphne and cousins E and L. The kids were so cute. Christmas is so fun with kids around. After a turkey dinner it was off to Cousin Lisa's house for a quick visit before heading home. The next day Steve and I got a stomach bug and felt HORRIBLE! But all is well now. Everyone is finally feeling well and we have more toys than we have room in the house (we converted the dining room into a playroom). I will post pics when I get my camera back from Memere and Pepere's house! Welcome to 2009!
